Each year, the WILG presents its coveted President’s Award to a select few work injury attorneys from its national network of over 1,100 members who have gone above and beyond the call of duty and who have made significant contributions to advancing the rights of injured workers. The six award winners are chosen annually by the President of the WILG.
Attorney Michael Gruber has dedicated his career to representing injured workers and has been actively involved in advocating for workers' rights on a national level. As a past president and current board member of the WILG, he has played a crucial role in shaping legislative initiatives and providing resources for attorneys fighting on behalf of workers’ rights. Gruber is also a Fellow of the College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers and is a past chair of the Workers Compensation Committee of the Brooklyn Bar Association.
"Receiving the President’s Award is an incredible honor, and I am grateful to the WILG for this recognition,” Gruber said. “I am proud to work alongside so many talented attorneys dedicated to protecting the rights of injured workers. Our collective commitment helps ensure justice and fair treatment for workers nationwide."
In addition to his leadership roles, Gruber oversees the Workers Compensation Appellate Division practice at Pasternack Tilker Ziegler Walsh Stanton & Romano LLP. He has successfully represented clients in numerous appeals before the New York State Appellate Division, Third Department, solidifying his reputation as a leading workers' compensation attorney in New York. His dedication to workers’ rights is further reflected in his regular lectures on workers’ compensation law to labor organizations and his recent recognition by Super Lawyers from 2021 to 2024.
